For Literacy Week, the whole school read the book ‘The Gruffalo’ and took part in lots of exciting activities linked to it in their literacy lessons. Classes spent the week learning to retell the story and then write a character description of the Gruffalo. On Thursday 5th March, we celebrated World Book Day. Children and adults came to school dressed as their favourite book character. There were lots of Harry Potters, princesses and even penguins spotted around school. At the end of the week, lots of families attended a workshop led by Amy which explained how we teach literacy using the ‘Talk4Writing’ approach. The week was a real success and left us all buzzing about books!
