Your Family Support Coordinator

My role in school is to provide support, advice and information to the families within our school community.
I can help you with any worries you may have concerning your child’s education, behaviour and wellbeing. I am also here to support parents with issues that may be impacting their family such as health or finances.
Advice and support are confidential, although concerns relating to safeguarding children will always be dealt with as per the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
I am also here as someone to talk to if you need it. I may not have all the answers, but hopefully, I can help you to work out how to find them.
Emotional, practical and social support
Eden’s centralised Family Service team provide links between home, school and other services, to strengthen relationships and communication.
They work individually with families who need support, advice or guidance about statutory services involvement and those who are finding it difficult to manage their child’s behaviour or needs at home.
They also provide pupils and their families with a range of activities outside school hours so both pupils and their sibling and families have opportunities to socialise and have experiences otherwise inaccessible to them.
We provide:
A varied programme of Coffee Mornings and Parent/Carer Workshops which provide support and information into many topics including:
- Positive behaviour at home / The Golden Rules / The Zones of Regulation
- Toileting Issues
- Dental Health
- Healthy Eating
- Sleep problems
- Money management and benefits
Year 6 residential Trip and transition to Secondary School.
Links and Signposting to a network of Groups and Services that offer ideas, activities and resources to try at home.
Assistance with completing forms, applications and making referrals to relevant agencies.
The opportunity for parents / carers to participate in activities within school and become part of the Alexandra Community including our Christmas Table Top Sale and our Cultural Day.
Opportunities for our pupils to extend their experiences outside of the classroom including our After School and Holiday Clubs.
Support for pupil attendance
If your child is finding school attendance difficult, you are not alone. Many children and young people with SEND experience challenges such as anxiety, sensory overload, or uncertainty about the school day.

Regular Family Service activities
Coffee Morning and Parent / Carer Workshops – Friday mornings 9 till 10 am in the Alexandra School Family Space.
After School Clubs and Brownies and Cubs – Wednesday afternoons until 4.30 pm – dates to be supplied separately.
Easter and Summer Holiday Clubs.
