Our School
Alexandra School is a fully inclusive primary school that specialises in supporting pupils aged 4–11 with complex, moderate learning disabilities, sometimes associated with behavioural, emotional, social, communication, physical or sensory needs.
Learning together
Alexandra School is a great school and it is caring. I feel happy to be here because it is almost like home.

Our pupils learn best alongside their peers, engaging in social learning in small groups, within a stimulating environment.
Adaptations can be made seamlessly for pupils who require lower stimulation at times in order to re-regulate in readiness to learn.
Alexandra School caters for pupils who may experience a range of cognitive, communication, and social and emotional difficulties which would make placement in a mainstream setting too challenging for the child.
The school offers full-time places for all its pupils.
Alexandra School serves the Harrow community and as such, reflects the ethnic diversity of the local population.
Alexandra School is a member of the Eden Academy Trust, a family of schools that specialise in meeting the educational needs of children and young people with a range of learning difficulties.

Our six golden rules
We believe that positive achievement and positive behaviour go hand in hand.
We have clear rules, expectations and boundaries which we expect all pupils and adults to accept; we call them the Golden Rules.
These rules are based on our school values and support the rights of pupils to be able to learn in an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
We display the Golden Rules in every classroom so that the whole school lives under the same umbrella of commonly held values.

Be gentle

Be kind & helpful

Listen

Work hard

Look after property

Be honest
Admissions
Pupils at this school will have had a full assessment of their special educational needs and will have an EHC plan. Some pupils come to the school at four or five years of age and this will be their first school. Others come after a period in mainstream school.
Once a referral has been made we will read all the papers and arrange to see the child, probably at his or her current setting. Then we will inform the child’s local authority whether or not we think we can meet the child’s needs.
Entry arrangements are flexible and pupils can join us at any time in the school year once a placement has been agreed. However, places can be scarce at Alexandra and we apologise to parents who want their child to come here but who find the school is full.
