At the end of the summer term, 26 children from years 3-6 who were learning at home had the opportunity to take part in a virtual drama project with the art charity CREATE. Between 8th-15th July, the children took part in twelve half day workshops on Zoom with peers and artists from CREATE. Under the guidance of CREATE’s drama artists, the children worked in three groups to create a radio play inspired by the themes of superheros and the environment. They each created and drew a mythical creature to feature in the story. With the support of adults from school and CREATE, they devised a script which they then recorded as a radio play. Each group shared their play to an audience of their family at home and also teachers and members of the school’s Local Advisory Board.
