|Did you stop and look at the big framed picture in the school
reception? It is a reproduction of Sandro Botticelli’s Mystical
Nativity painted 509 years ago. It represents the artist’s vision
of the real meaning of Christmas, complete with angels, Jesus,
Mary and Joseph in the stable. Our Christmas production Hosanna
Rock also reminds us that at the heart of the Christmas holiday
there is a religious celebration. The last week before Christmas
can be fraught— at school as well as at home.. By the time you
read this the Hall will be decorated, the children will have learned
their words and songs (or not) and plans will be well under way
for a Christmas feast at lunch time on Friday the 18th, Christmas
cards are flying all around and expectations are high for presents
on Christmas Day. I hope that in spite of all the bustle and the
commotion you all have a happy and a peaceful family Christmas!
